Well here we are with autumn making its debut a little too quickly for our liking! However, the start of the new season generally mean's business starts picking up after all the summer holidays have taken place. To this effect several of us have been or will be taking part in various fairs around the country. Details of these can be found in Dates for your Diary at the bottom of this letter.

Already we have held two events this month at the galleries. The first being Dianne and Ivor Bricks 'At Home with Amherst' event when they marked 30 years of dealing in antiques. We are pleased to report this was an extremely successful day with all the participants going away exclaiming they had had a very enjoyable day and with some added additions to their collections!

Our second event was our 'Valuation Day' held to raise money for the Edenbridge Hospital and to give our local residents a chance to bring along their family heirlooms for our specialists to appraise. The day received an incredible response with approximately 100 people coming through our door and raising, along with a Pop Up tea room provided by the League of Friends, nearly £900! Thank you to everyone who came along and waited patiently to be seen! You can see lots of photos on both events on our Facebook page Please don't forget to 'Like' us!

Dianne will hold another of her popular and informative seminars on Saturday 31st October, entitled 'F L Hausberg, A Liverpool Retailer of Tunbridge Ware'. She will discuss a needlework box with a view of Warwick Castle, which was sold by Hausberg, who was a goldsmith and jeweller and whose name is associated with Tunbridge Ware from Henry Hollamby. She will also discuss some of the ephemera found inside the box. Further details will follow in the next letter, but please note that these events need to be booked in advance even though admission is complimentary.

We would also like to welcome two new specialists to our collective. Bill Neal has taken some cabinet space with a collection of oriental works of art. This is an area we have been lacking in for some time and feel it will add a valuable addition to our enterprise. Bill will be adding a display of Chinese Mother-of-Pearl counters sometime in the future, which will add another dimension to the galleries. Please view his website here for more information We also welcome rug specialist, Mehdi Sharafi of Sharafi & Co., who is based in London. Sharafi will be displaying a wide selection of rugs and will also offer a full restoration service.

Both these dealers will be added to our website in the coming weeks and we hope you will take the time to view their stock either online or at the galleries.

This brings us to the end of this 'Welcome' section but please go on to view our 'Signature Pieces' and to take note of dates for our future events.

Our best wishes,
Lennox, Sue and all at the galleries.
