We are now fast approaching the festive season and there is much to organise and prepare for our forthcoming Christmas event. However, first of all we must thank all those who attended Amherst Antiques highly successful 'Flights of Fancy' Tunbridge Ware exhibition. Several of you travelled the length and breadth of our wondrous land to form a queue before many of us were even breakfasted! Dianne had put together a fascinating exhibition of pieces collected by the late Dr. Peach. Many of these items had not been seen for over 40 years and provided huge interest for many collectors. There are still some pieces left to purchase if you couldn't make the exhibition.

With barely time to clear the cabinets we are now preparing for Jupiter Antiques '200 Years of British Porcelain 1750 - 1950'. The two day event will showcase hundreds of pieces of British porcelain much of which has not been available to purchase for over 40 years. We are delighted that Tony Horsley and Mark and Sandra Diamond will be joining Jupiter again with cabinets full of exceptional pieces.
Mark and Sandra Diamond specialise in desk related items and will be bringing a selection of inkwells, pen trays and inkstands as well as their large stock of chamber and taper sticks.
Tony Horsley will be showing fine pieces of signed Royal Worcester, Minton, Coalport and Crown Derby. He is also the world's expert on Candle Snuffers and will have a large collection for you to view and buy.

Jupiter Antiques are exhibiting selected pieces from three recently acquired collections including a fine collection of British coffee cans and some exceptional 18th century porcelain.

If you live in the Harrogate area Jupiter are currently exhibiting part of these collections at the Harrogate Antique Fair until 19th October. http://www.harrogateantiquefair.com/

The two day selling exhibition will take place on 24th and 25th October during usual gallery opening times. Refreshments will be available.

We do hope you have already pencilled in your diaries the 29th and 30th November when our Christmas Open Weekend will take place. This year we are delighted to welcome Zelley Jewellers of Norwich who will delight us all with a fantastic selection of contemporary amber jewellery as well as their own private amber collection which will be on view as a mini museum. Howard Zelley has also agreed to host two informal talks each afternoon on the fascinating subject of amber. http://www.zelleyjewellers.co.uk/

There will be more information on the Christmas event in the next newsletter.

Until then we send our very best wishes,
Lennox, Sue and all at the galleries.

To coincide with Jupiter's exhibition we thought we would showcase one of their star pieces. This beautiful Flight Barr and Barr Worcester ice pail with cover and liner painted with flowers to both sides probably by Samuel Astles c. 1820.
