This month is certainly turning out to be an extremely busy one with very few weeks to go before our Christmas event held over the weekend of 30th November and 1st December.

As mentioned in last month's newsletter we will be showcasing a new enterprise called 'Pegasus of Sussex' beautifully hand painted nursery furniture and accessories. Owners, Jasper Pearson and Rachael Saunders will be here during the weekend to discuss any projects you might be interested in. You can also watch Rachael carrying out her artistic work on various items. Commissions have included several 'A' list celebrities as well as royalty which only goes to enforce the quality of her work. They make unusual and delightful Christmas, birthday and christening presents.

Sue Pearson will also be making a return visit with another collection of antique and new teddies along with a delightful display of antique toys and, as before, Sue will be happy to discuss any related queries you may have, whether they be regarding restoration, selling or valuations.

One of our resident art specialists, John Robertson, will be presenting an exhibition of paintings by Jenny Wheatley RWS. NEAC. 'A Sense of Place' offers paintings from her various travels and her own window. They will certainly brighten up the impending dull and wintry days ahead as her use of colour is, to put it mildly, completely joyous! Jenny will be here during the weekend to meet clients and talk about her work, you can also see the exhibition by visiting Johns pocket online exhibition at

We do hope you are able to join us to launch the festive season and enjoy mince pies and mulled wine whilst perusing around our beautifully displayed showrooms.

We have included an invitation to our Christmas Open Weekend at The Edenbridge Galleries on the 30th November & 1st December 2013 - Click here for your invitation.

If the above weekend is not convenient we hope to see you some other time or please do visit our comprehensive website.

With best wishes,
Lennox, Sue and all at the galleries

Competition of the Month
Last month's question was a pretty tall order but we did have one reply which was the correct answer. Congratulations to Howard Rockley who guessed the woods used in the table as:-

   1 Padouk for the frame
   2 Harewood banding
   3 Boxwood stringing
   4 Ebony stringing
5 Satinwood for the central panel
   6 Rosewood raised beading

This month's question is:
This Tunbridge Ware thermometer stand was made by George & James Burrows of Tunbridge Wells, circa 1840. What important contribution did the Burrows family make to the development of Tunbridge Ware? Answers please by November 30th and we will announce the winner at our Open Weekend!

Please remember that all our previous newsletters can be found on our website on the News and Events page.
