Welcome
As you read this letter several of our specialists will be mid-way through exhibiting at the BADA FAIR in the Duke of York Square, Kings Road, London. This fair precedes the Chelsea Fair at the Chelsea Town Hall where more of our specialists will be exhibiting. You can find all the details on the various fairs at the bottom of this newsletter.

We gave you a little taster of the theme we had chosen for our Spring Open Weekend in our last letter, and this certainly struck a chord with many of you. As you probably remember we decided to go with a theme on 'tea'. It may not be everyone's favourite cuppa, but it is truly associated with our history dating back to the 17th century. We are therefore quietly getting excited as this theme encapsulates so many different aspects within the world of antiques. From tea caddies to caddy spoons, tripod tea tables to early Worcester tea bowls, saucers and teapots, to fine art depicting the art of taking tea! Not only will our specialists be exhibiting some well-chosen items but we have also been fortunate enough to enrol the help of a local tea merchant who will be blending our very own tea! This will be served in our specially created 18th century tea room along with cream tea and strawberries, and will also be for sale in delightful miniature tea caddies that make perfect gifts.

This event takes place over the weekend of 7th and 8th May with the talk on the History of Tea at approximately 2.30pm on Saturday 7th. Please feel free to bring family and friends along with you; this looks set to be an event not to be missed!

However, before our May event Amherst Antiques will be hosting an exhibition entitled 'Temptations', and tempted we are sure you will be! Dianne and Ivor Brick have managed to acquire an outstanding collection from one very discerning collector who, over thirty years, had managed to put together a collection of Tunbridge Ware both of quality and distinction.

The selling exhibition will commence from Saturday 16th April with Dianne hosting an information session in the afternoon and will carry on until Saturday 23rd April. Closed Sunday. For more information on this event please visit http://www.tunbridgeware.org/

We look forward to welcoming you to the galleries and if you require any invitations to the various fairs mentioned, please do not hesitate to ask. Our very best wishes,
Lennox, Sue and all at the galleries.

S & S Timms Antiques Ltd

Robbie Timms is the fourth generation of this family of antique dealers based in Bedfordshire. Robbies Great Grandfather had a shop in Sydney Street, London in the early part of the 20th century and was a founder member of the BADA. It was Robbies parents, Sue and Steve, who opened a shop in Ampthill, Bedfordshire around 35 years ago with Robbie joining them when he left school in 1998. In 2007 the family decided to close their retail premises and concentrate on fairs and their website. Sadly, Sue passed away in 2009 and not long after Robbie decided to take showroom space at our galleries where he continues to display a wide range of fine quality 18th and 19th century furniture.
