The past month has been extremely busy with two very successful events taking place. Firstly Jupiter Antiques hosted ‘200 Years of British Porcelain’ and secondly Amherst Antiques presented a Tunbridge Ware Day entitled ‘What’s in a Box?’ Next on the list of activities is Lennox Cato’s first solo exhibition for many years. Some of you may know, June is the time of year Lennox would usually be taking part at the Olympia International Art & Antiques Fair, and although several of our specialists at the galleries will be taking part Lennox felt this year he would take a breather and host his own event here in Edenbridge.

Entitled ‘Dealing In Excellence’, Lennox has managed to put together an outstanding collection. An online version of the accompanying catalogue is available to view on his website at www.lennoxcato.com Please do let us know if you would like a hard copy version sent to you.

The exhibition will run during normal gallery opening times (closed Sunday). All the showrooms at the galleries will be open, so there will be much to see to make your visit really worthwhile.

Straight after the exhibition Lennox will be off to Tredegar House, South Wales, for an Antiques Roadshow recording on Sunday 22nd June. Incidentally, if you haven’t already, the new Antiques Roadshow magazine is definitely worth a buy, Lennox will be featured in the August edition in a five page editorial.

During June, Jupiter Antiques will be presenting their annual Ceramics Mayfair event at the Four Seasons Hotel, Park Lane, London. Between the 11th to 14th June you will be able to see a fine selection of 17th to 20th century exhibits, all for sale.

We must apologise for not sending out a May newsletter, but as you can see, life has been somewhat hectic and so our apologies for taking a break. We are now back on track so please do take time to peruse our selected stock below which will take you through to our website.

In the meantime enjoy the rest of this letter and we look forward to seeing you soon,

Lennox, Sue and all at the galleries.

Object of the Month

This fascinating French automaton mantel clock, circa 1835, shows a ship flying the French flag and bearing full sale. When wound, by activating a lever beneath the rosewood veneered base, the ship actually moves up and down amongst the waves. You can read much more about this clock offered by Derval Antiques at.
