June Newsletter 2010
Despite the unseasonal cold weather around 400 clients and friends attended our Spring Open Weekend on 8th & 9th May and enjoyed Pimms and canapés whilst viewing our varied stock. We were privileged to be entertained by harpist Margaret Watson, who played the Schwieso Erard harp, currently for sale at the galleries, and by the duo Serendipity.
We were delighted to have been mentioned in an article by antiques specialist Judith Miller in the Daily Telegraph on Saturday 15th May, recommending the galleries as "the perfect place to check out what you really want to collect". She continues "You can be confident that the dealers will stand by and guarantee their items".
As we write many of our exhibitors at the galleries are preparing for the London International Fine Art Fair at Olympia which takes place from 4th until 13th June. If you would like to receive complimentary tickets please do contact us.
Shaw Edwards Antiques are finalists in The Lapada & Country Life Object of the Year Competition. Their special object is from Shaws private collection and is a very rare carved walnut image of a Mythical creature called a Pard. All the finalists objects will be on view at LIFAF, Olympia.
We are now able to communicate with you via Twitter. To keep up to date with new items of stock posted on the galleries website and to hear of forthcoming events and news follow us at AntiqueGallery.
Lastly, we hope you like our re-designed newsletter to compliment our new website. You will now see that a simple click on any of the items photographed will take you straight through to the website.
We look forward to seeing you soon,
Lennox & Sue

Featured Dealer
Jupiter Antiques was founded in 1984 by keen collectors with a passion for porcelain. They started as a part-time business selling at small local antiques fairs but soon progressing to larger fairs all over England. Now a full time business specialising in 18th and 19th Century English and Continental porcelain, they exhibit at quality antiques fairs all over the UK, notably Penman's Chelsea, the NEC where Jupiter is on the ceramic vetting committee and various ceramic fairs such as the Worcester and Wedgwood museums where they are also co-organisers. Jupiter Antiques' major event of the year is their annual exhibition, this year held at the five star Athenaeum Hotel on London's Piccadilly on 9th, 10th and 11th June.
Not having shop premises, The Edenbridge Galleries is a showcase for their porcelain which is changed regularly to ensure a fresh display for visitors. The partners, Brad Dover and Kevin Pearcy who will be at the gallery by appointment, will also hold small themed exhibitions which will be of special interest to collectors
