JULY 2013
Having trouble reading this newsletter? Click here to view it in your browser.

Dear reader, welcome to our 'new look' July newsletter which we hope finds you well and at last enjoying some good summer weather. During the summer months at the galleries life becomes a little calmer and we start preparing for our autumn activities. Having said that, some of our specialists will be exhibiting at the Antiques for Everyone Fair at the NEC, which takes place towards the end of this month. Those taking part are Amherst Antiques, Jupiter Antiques and S & S Timms Antiques. Please do let us know if you need a complimentary invitation.

Amongst some of our autumn events is a Tunbridge Ware Day to be held at The Spa Hotel in Tunbridge Wells. This is a regular event that Dianne Brick holds each year, but as the theme for this one is about veneers she has invited Lennox Cato to present a talk on the subject of early 19th century veneers. Please visit Dianne's website for more information on this. There will also be more information to follow in forthcoming newsletters.

Jupiter Antiques will also be holding a two day selling exhibition at the galleries on 27th and 28th September, again we will have more details to follow.

We do hope you approve of our new look letter but please do let us know if there is anything else you would like to see added to our monthly bulletins. We are always open to suggestions!

On that note we will now leave you to peruse through our signature pieces which, with the click of your mouse will take you through to our website and even more delectable pieces!

Our best wishes for a happy summer,
Lennox, Sue and all at the galleries

Competition of the Month
We had several entries into last month's competition 'Which Worcester blue and white pattern is more likely to be two Chinese warriors than something matrimonial?' The answer was 'The Eloping Bride pattern'. Congratulations to Kate Chambers from Bromley, a £100 gift voucher should now be with you to spend at the galleries.

This month can you guess what this intriguing item is? Shaw Edwards has suggested this and even he hasn't worked out its use yet. It measures 7.5 inches long, 3.5 inches deep and 2.5 inches high. Possibly English and first half of the 17th century. It is metal throughout, has fixings at each end to take either a strap or a belt and has been carefully pierced. We need your help here! The best answer will win the prize. Your ideas by July 31st please for your chance to win a £100 voucher.
