January Newsletter 2012
Welcome
Firstly, a belated Happy New Year to all our readers.
Although Christmas now seems an age away we hope it was a happy and restful time for you. We enjoyed a well earned break at the galleries and are now busy preparing for our future events.
We are also delighted to announce our first monthly competition winner! Sharon Butler from London was the first name in the hat to be drawn. The question was 'Can you name the stately home in the British Isles that Thomas Chippendale supplied the furniture for? The collection was saved for the nation by HRH Prince Charles'. Many of you guessed the correct answer, Dumfries House in Scotland. Sharon is the lucky recipient of a £100 gift voucher. Don't hesitate to have a go at this months question, it could be you this time!
The galleries now have their very own Facebook page! It took us a bit of time, but we got there eventually! You can keep track on all our events and make comments if you so wish! Don't forget you can also follow us on Twitter @Antiquegallery.
Lennox Cato is also about to embark on another schedule of filming for the Antiques Roadshow. He is also presenting a talk on Thomas Chippendale on the Saturday afternoon at the forthcoming Harewood House Antiques Fair. If you live in this area why not come along, it should be most interesting.
As usual please find a display of wonderful items in our signature pieces section, and if you have any queries on the stock shown here or anything shown on our website, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Our best wishes to you and once again a Happy New Year,
Lennox, Sue and all at the galleries.

Competition of the Month
Click image to view in full-size
Last months competition was a little on the easy side, so this month we will have a little more of a brain teaser!
John Robertson has offered this question. The Watercolour shown is signed F. J. Aldridge. But do you think it is actually by him? Is it a fake or forgery? Answers please either via email or phone and you could be the lucky recipient this month of a £100 gift voucher! Make sure your entry reaches us by 31st January 2012 when all correct answers will be placed in a hat.
