Last week the galleries held a meeting to discuss our future events and amongst much chattering and discussion we came up with a theme on 'tea' for our annual Spring Open Weekend! This will mean each of our specialists will display something to do with tea through the centuries from tea caddies to caddie spoons, porcelain and silver tea pots as well as paintings and rugs. Perhaps some Persian tea may even make its way to Edenbridge via our rug specialist!

We feel quietly excited about this idea and are busy working behind the scenes to make this a truly interesting event for our visitors! Please make a note that the dates are 7th and 8th May and more information on this weekend will follow in due course.

If you live in the Rutland area Lennox Cato will be presenting a talk at Hambleton Hall on Wednesday February 24th. Entitled 'Are Antiques A Good Investment?' Lennox will discuss this subject and give a little insight into the world of the Antiques Roadshow. The event has been organised by the Friends of the BADA and will commence at 11.30am with a delicious lunch to follow. There are still some places left so don't delay! Please visit their website for full information and how to book.

Mehdi Sharafi, our rug specialist, has agreed to hold an information day at the galleries on Saturday 27th February. He is encouraging you to come along and chat to him about rugs and carpets and will also have his restorer on hand to repair any rugs that can be done on the spot. This is a one off event, but if successful more may follow. So if you are considering purchasing a rug, or need one valued or restored, Saturday 27th of February is your day.

Amherst Antiques are preparing for another of their Collector Selling exhibitions. Entitled 'Temptations: A Discerning Collectors Choice', will commence on Saturday 16th April and will run until Saturday 23rd April, closed Sunday. More information on this will follow in our next letter.

Please take note of all the Dates for Your Diary, there are quite a few as we have listed them through to May.

We look forward to seeing you sometime soon,
With our very best wishes,
Lennox, Sue and all at the galleries.
