We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who attended our very special Christmas Open Weekend. We hope you enjoyed it as much as we did and with the various presentations taking place, we hope there was something for everyone to enjoy.

We were delighted to see so many familiar faces as well as many new visitors, many of which went away with our famous navy carrier bags full of Christmas delights!

May we remind you that we will be open until 3pm on Christmas Eve, but please don't leave it till the last minute if you are still looking for that special present! Our website is fairly up to date but there are always pieces which, for one reason or another, do not make it to the website, so a visit to the gallery is a must if you want to see as much as possible. Likewise, some of the pieces on the various dealers pages may also not be at the gallery, so please do check if you have seen something on line to ensure we can arrange for it to be here for you to see.

Sadly, we will be saying goodbye to Derek Roberts of Derval Antiques, who has now decided he will finally retire at the amazing age of 83. Derek along with his wife Valerie has had an incredible career dealing in equally incredible clocks. Having dealt from Tonbridge for most of his dealing life we were delighted when they both asked if they could join our galleries at the birth of this unique enterprise. Derek has been a real inspiration and offered many a wise word along the way and we feel all of us at the galleries feel it has been a real privilege to have worked alongside such a well renowned and respected dealer.

Derek will be leaving his showrooms at the end of this year and has reduced prices quite considerably on many items. His website will still be in operation for quite some time to come.

John Robertson is also offering 20% off his stock of watercolours and oil paintings until Christmas to make room for fresh pieces. Couldn't be a better time to buy than now at The Edenbridge Galleries!

We will be closing at 3pm on Christmas Eve and will reopen on Monday 5th January in the meantime we wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Lennox, Sue and all at the galleries.

Object of the Month

We have chosen this lovely Christmassy painting signed by Joseph Harold Swanwick (1866 - 1924). The artist was a member of both the Royal Institute of Watercolour Painters and the Royal Institute of Oil Painters, of which there is a lable on the reverse of this picture. He lived in a little cottage near Polegate, East Sussex, at the foot of the South Downs.

It measures 14in (35.56cm) X 10ins (25.40cm) and is offered by John Robertson at £2,400. This picture is included in John's 20% off sale.
