August 2015

We just do not know where the time goes! Hard to believe we are half way through August already! Hopefully you have been enjoying the summer, albeit the rather mixed weather, but are now rested and raring to join us for our forthcoming events!

Our first, as mentioned in previous letters, is 'At Home with Amherst' on Sunday 6th September when Dianne and Ivor Brick will be celebrating thirty years of dealing in Tunbridge Ware. This is a complimentary event and full details can be found by clicking here. Places have already been booked but there is still room for more, so don't delay in contacting us for a seat! As with all Dianne's events, we can guarantee you will go away far more knowledgeable than when you arrived! This will be a truly fascinating day out for those interested in Tunbridge Ware.

The following week on Saturday 12th September we are bracing ourselves for queues down the street when we host our first 'Valuation Day' in collaboration with Edenbridge Hospital. Based on the BBC's Antiques Roadshow, all our specialists will be on hand to offer advice and verbal valuations on anything you would like information on. Perhaps it is something that has been passed down the family that no one has ever worked out what it was used for, or a vase sitting on the mantel piece that you have often thought 'wonder if that has any value?' Well bring it along to us and we will do our best to inform you of its history, value and whether worth insuring.

Naturally, large items will not be easy to bring along so please take clear photographs for our specialists to see. There will be a maximum of three items per person and a charge of £2 per item. All proceeds go directly to the hospital and their League of Friends will be setting up a pop up tea room so as you can indulge yourselves with a nice cup of tea and homemade cake.

Our specialists offer advice on town and country furniture, pictures, clocks, treen, Tunbridge Ware, porcelain, glass, jewellery and miscellaneous items.

We do hope you will join us and help raise money for our lovely cottage hospital.

Just before our own Valuation Day Lennox will be in Cheshire at Lyme Park near Stockport for an Antiques Roadshow recording, so if you live in that area and have time to go along it takes place on Thursday 10th September. His last recording at Walmer Castle in Deal had an incredible turnout with over 4000 visitors! Some of which we know were some of you who read these letters! Hope you enjoyed your day; we were truly blessed with fabulous weather once the rain cleared away.

That is all for now but please remember we will be closed the week beginning 24th August and reopen after the bank holiday on Tuesday 1st September.

Our best wishes,
Lennox, Sue and all at the galleries.
