August Newsletter 2011
Welcome
A warm welcome to the August edition of our newsletter. If you have not visited us before, you will be delighted at the wide variety of items housed in our period showrooms and our adjoining medieval building Taylour House, with its exposed oak joists and beams.
As well as showrooms full of superb period furniture, there are also many smaller items on display, such as ceramics, glass, silver, Tunbridge Ware, clocks, carpets and paintings, and to complement our diverse array of beautiful antiques and furnishings, the second floor houses the renowned interior designers, Mrs Monro Ltd.
At the galleries we are committed to offering the highest standards of expertise and customer service and our user-friendly website is a useful tool for searching for the item that you are seeking.
Lennox has been busy filming all over the country for the BBC Antiques Roadshow. His next outing will be on Thursday 25th August at Wimbledon - The All England Lawn Tennis Club. Why not go along and watch the team at work? It makes for a fascinating day out.
Best Wishes from Lennox, Sue and everyone at the galleries.

Tunbridge Ware Object of the Month August 2011
A Tunbridge Ware glove box veneered in coromandel with an overall geometric design by Thomas Barton. Barton was known to have adapted floor tile designs to be used on Tunbridge Ware both during the time he was working with Edmund Nye and subsequently from his own workshop. This pattern is an unusual example, not seen by us before.
For more information on Barton tile designs please go to Dianne's blog On The Tiles - http://www.tunbridgeware.org/p/blog
