A view of the Basilica of Santa Maria dell'Assunta and the Campanille on the island of Torcello.
Provenance
From the Collection of twenty six watercolours by Hellen Allingham sold by the executors of Mr. and Mrs. Mottram at Woolley and Wallis, Salisbury. October 1994. Subsequently sold at Christie's, London.
Exhibition History:
Helen Allingham painted only two or three views of Torcello. It seems likely that the present picture is the one exhibited at the Fine Art Society in 1904 under the title "The Campanile, Torcello"
