Description / Expertise
English Oak beam Angel, circa 1420 - 1450. It depicts an Angel sitting on a cloud, and is typical of its period. Stylistically this type of representation appears widely, but it could well be a West Country example, as there are closely related beam Angels located in a Medieval hall in Somerset. There is insect damage to the back of its head.
